Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola is owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and like all other Federal Government owned higher institutions of learning; the University relies almost entirely on Federal allocations for running its programmes and other activities. With the economic downturn being experienced in the country coupled with dwindling government revenues, heavy financial burden being borne by government and the lower premium placed on funding education by governments in Nigeria, funds coming to the University have significantly dwindled and are no longer adequate for any meaningful development. It has become clear that if the University shall achieve its goal, it must find alternative sources of funding. This informed the decision of the Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, Prof. Kyari Mohammed to establish the University Advancement Centre (UAC) on the 14th November, 2016. The Centre is to be headed by a Director. There are other Deputy Directors and Committees working with the Director to ensure success and efficiency. The pioneer Director for the Centre is Prof. D.T. Gungula.
University Advancement Centre has become a necessity for the University if its vision, mission and goals are to be achieved. The University is in dare need of development partners, collaborators, donors, benefactors, sponsors and alumni who will assist the University in realizing its mandate and other developmental goals.
